Down by the sea

My Fellow Traveller and I enjoyed a beautiful change of scenery yesterday, down by the sea. About an hour south of where we live, there's a lovely back beach perfect for walking, beachcombing and just sitting and listening to the eternal roar of the ocean. We had a delicious parcel of fish and chips for lunch too, but some of the locals got wind of it and decided they'd just wait on the bonnet of our car until we decided to share...

Our place is pretty far from the sea, so it'll be really like a special time of the year if we get to smell the sea salt.

Look at the ladybug! What interesting motif! I've never seen anything like that. =D

That ladybug was the calmest little bug...it climbed on my hand and then kindly agreed to pause and pose for my camera! :)

Where in Japan do you go to see the sea, Stardust?

Niigata, which is about 4 hours drive from where I stay.

Ok. I've just looked Niigata up on the map. We have only been to Tokyo and Kyoto but I would love to go further afield...
